Iemoto Akane Teshigahara 10th Year Celebration page launched.
This year marks the 10th year since Akane Teshigahara succeeded to the fourth Iemoto in April, 2001. In celebration various events will be held across Japan in 2011.

For the last 10 years, as the leader of Sogetsu School of Ikebana cherishing “free creation,” Akane Teshigahara has been actively planning and producing outdoor exhibitions and other events to seek a new way of ikebana. She has also dedicated herself to teaching in Akane Junior Class in the hope of giving children a chance to develop their sensibility through ikebana. At the same time, she has been expanding her activities in other fields including stage art and jewelry design. In 2007, she took the initiative in organizing large-scale events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of Sogetsu School. Now, she is even more actively engaged in a variety of activities including producing ikebana live performances in different parts of Japan.

We hope to share with you the past 10 years of Iemoto Akane who recalls, “I have been continually working with all my might” and the pleasure of this time to look into the bright future through this corner.
