vol. 40: "Heartlines"
Finally my first solo exhibition in four years, “Heartlines,” has started.
It is being held in Omotesando, Tokyo at SPIRAL Building, a very fashionable and luxurious space where people from various walks of life get together.

At the other side of the bamboo tunnel,
an atrium (large open ceiling space) opens out.
After the March 11 earthquake, I was confused and troubled about what I should express in this solo exhibition. But what I can do is to offer energizing flower creations, and I am convinced that will provide an opportunity where you can put yourself in the space at SPIRAL and fill your hearts with the energy of the bamboo and flowers.
I arranged my works spaciously within the pure white venue.
In the atrium, there is a large spiral slope
so that you can view my works from above.
Ten years have passed since I succeeded as Iemoto. My feeling of appreciation to all the people who supported me was incorporated into my exhibits. I will continuously pursue the possibilities of ikebana expression while believing in the vast power hidden in flowers.
During the same period as my solo exhibition, another exhibition called the “Past Iemotos’ Influence” is being held at the Sogetsu Kaikan. Together with the works of Sofu, Kasumi and Hiroshi, ikebana created by myself and 41 leading Sogetsu ikebanists, including Senso Onaka and Master Instructors of the Sogetsu Headquarters are displayed in various places of the building. This exhibition is full of highlights, so please come and visit the Sogetsu Kaikan and my exhibition at SPIRAL.
