Vol. 46: Announcing the Arrival of Spring! Saitama Branch Exhibition
According to the traditional Japanese calendar, the first day of spring has already passed and the sunlight has gradually become brighter, but still cold days continue. News of serious damage caused by heavy snow and avalanches are being reported almost everyday. Please be very careful if you live in a deep snow district.
Yesterday I went to Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture to arrange my ikebana work for the Saitama Branch Exhibition. I enjoyed the scent of spring a little bit before most people.
The site is the Kawaguchi Civic Hall “Friendia” in front of the JR Kawaguchi Station. The room features a high ceiling which provides a spacious and comfortable atmosphere.
I used three types of flowering cherry having different colors from whitish to deep pink. First of all, I carefully trimmed broken small branches.
Since this creation will be seen from three directions, I arranged while moving right and left.
The container, which has a beautiful green Oribe glaze, was created by Mr. Kiyoyuki Kato. It has a presence as strong as audacious wisteria vine.
Colorful spring ikebana works by about 160 Saitama Branch members are being0 displayed.
The joy of welcoming spring fills every corner of the venue.
This is an excellent exhibition in which the healing power of flowers soothes your heart to make you feel mellow. Please come and visit the site with your friends!
