Vol. 59: Autumnal Pleasures
Finally, a bit of crisp air can be felt in the mornings and evenings. Now is the time that summertime fatigue takes its toll, but I hope you are still in good form.
Today, I saw a dragonfly near the building.
Despite its position in the center of Tokyo, Sogetsu Kaikan is in a blessed environment full of greenery. Opposite is the Akasaka Imperial Palace and we are next to the Takahashi Korekiyo Memorial Park.

Dusk is alive with the buzzing of insects which are even louder than the car engines on busy Aoyama Avenue.

I could be fully rejuvenated this summer again after my vacation. Now I’m running all out toward the autumn exhibition season!
First of all, for Harvest Festival "Sogetsu Autumn," the annual exhibition at the Tamagawa Takashimaya Shopping Center, I created the installation entitled “Autumn Pleasures” (until October 2)

From October 1, also the well-known Japan Art Festival in Numazu 2012 will start at the Numazu Imperial Villa Memorial Park. I will create a bamboo installation the same as last year. On the opening day, there will be a talk show with Mr. Souun Takeda. The Shizuoka Branch Exhibition will also be held at the Nishi Fuzoku Tei in the park. We are looking forward to seeing you all at the site.
In addition, I will again produce an arrangement to welcome visitors to the lobby of the New National Theatre, Tokyo, soon to open the new season. It is a very difficult space with high ceiling and viewing from all angles, but I will display the ikebana work which I hope will stay in the hearts of the audience together with the play being performed there.
In addition, there will be various Sogetsu events all over Japan. Whether feeling relief or excitement: I strongly hope that your hearts will be refreshed by the passion shown in Sogetsu works!

The Junior Class, which was closed for August, also started!
