Vol. 82: Creation of My Spring Work

Yesterday, the first spring wind blew fiercely all day long. In the evening when it lessened slightly, I went to the Nihombashi Takashimaya Department Store to set up the ikebana installation for the annual spring event.

I chose a vase that I made myself at the Sogetsu Ceramic Kiln in Fukui Prefecture.

I arranged the rhododendron,

golden-bells with the gorgeous branches,

azalea,

spring green maple,

and camellia.

While thinking about all sorts of forms,

I added bamboo poles.

Lastly, I extended the space by using split bamboo, and

it was complete!

At 1:00 pm and at 3:00 pm for the period from March 20 (Thu.) to 23 (Sun.), there will be a mini stage in front of my work to hold events.

It is still chilly in the morning and evening, but here spring is in full bloom.

Please come and see the exhibition with your friends and families!
