The Iemoto demonstration for the IOC evaluation team.

On April 18, Saturday night, 2009 a formal dinner which was sponsored by Prime Minister Aso invited 16 of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Evaluation Commission members and the Iemoto gave a demonstration at the beginning of the dinner.

Iemoto Akane made a big arrangement which makes us feel the refreshing early summer by using a bamboo belt (obi), flowering dogwood, primrose jasmine, golden-bells, full moon maple and white azalea with a basis of bamboo with the cool pipe music by Mr. Hiroaki Terai of Morita School on fuekata (Noh Flute) as a back ground. After that, in the lacquer vase, the Iemoto expressed five Olympic colors by using black bamboo, red rhododendron, green full moon maple, white Thunberg spirea, yellow glory lily, dancinglady orchid and blue larkspur. When the Iemoto completed the work with huge gold and silver paper strings (Mizuhiki) like a symbol for the 2016 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympics, about 50 people including the Governor of Tokyo, Mr. Ishihara, attended and applauded.

Although it was only for 15 minutes, the demonstration livened up the event by the expression appropriate for Olympic ideology of connecting the world's hearts as one.
