Visitors who enter the Sala delle Cariatidi in order to see Bamboo, an installation by Hiroshi Teshigahara, will immediately be attracted by a series of pathways that allow them to explore the perimeter of the plant construction. The artist has built this with the careful, finely balanced interlacing, orientation and juxtaposition of canes up to eight metres in length. Otherwise they can pass through it thanks to a series of winding tunnels, each about thirty metres in length, that evoke - obliquely but, nonetheless, recognizably - the special charm of the Japanese garden. |
