Message from Iemoto Akane Teshigahara

Your flowers, for the future

The Sogetsu School will celebrate its 100th anniversary in four yours’ time. Over the past century, the world situation, lifestyles, and the environment surrounding ikebana have changed so drastically that we are now living in an age of unforeseeable future years.
Therefore, I believe that reflecting on the past, examining the present,
and reevaluating why we arrange flowers and what Sogetsu is about are of great significance in discovering the path ahead.
Following on from the last year’s exhibition, we will ask this question once more.
What’s SOGETSU?
Each of the exhibitors will express a deeper answer to this question in the form of “Ikebana Through My Eyes”.
We hope you enjoy the variety of works adorning the venue.
