The Iemoto to Offer Flowers at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum
31st Flower Offering at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum (Arrangement by the Iemoto)
Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum
07 Aug 2025 [thu] - 10 Aug 2025 [sun]

The tradition of offering flowers at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum began in 1996, the year the museum opened, initiated by members of the Sogetsu School in Nagasaki. Since then, it has been held annually. Today, volunteers from the Nagasaki Branch continue this tradition, carrying on the prayers for peace of their predecessors. This year marks the 31st offering.
In recognition of their long-standing dedication, the Nagasaki Branch received the Grand Prize at the 2024 Sogetsu Awards.
2025 also marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. This year, the flower offering will be created in collaboration with the Iemoto, embodying prayers for peace. We invite you to witness this heartfelt display.
