【Report】January 2026 program (New Delhi Branch)

This was our first program of the New Year.
This was to celebrate the New Year as well as the very important milestone- the Centenary Celebrations of the Sogetsu School !

To make the demonstration a little different, we decided that all the arrangements should have sunflowers as the main flowers as they signify longevity, devotion and optimism. They exude happiness and warmth.

The demonstration was by some of the teachers of the New Delhi branch.

After the arrangements had been done, the demonstrators came back and finished the program by tying up the arrangements. They arranged the  bamboo vases which were placed in between the arrangements with syngonium leaves. This in a way became the common element which tied up the various Ikebana displaying that there was unity even in the diversity of the arrangements.

This was the first presentation for the celebration of the hundred years of Sogetsu Ikebana. Next month we have invited  Mr. Christopher Lim from Singapore. He will conduct a workshop and present a  demonstration.
