【Report】Demonstration and Workshop (February 2026)

We had an amazing demonstration as part of our Centenary Celebrations by Mr Christopher Lim from Singapore on February 27, 2026. The theme that he had chosen was very interesting–“A Poetry of Space”.
The Director of Culture of the Japan Foundation, Ms Kurumi Otake was the Chief Guest. She gave a short speech before the beginning of the demonstration.
We had about 200 members and guests who attended the program which was enjoyed by everyone. The members also learned how to handle various kinds of material. All the vases belonged to the members and all the greens and flowers were locally obtained.
We also had a great learning experience during the workshop conducted by Christopher Lim on February 26, 2026 at the prestigious Park Hotel.
The theme of the workshop was “Unconventional ways of using branches ”.
The members had brought their own dry branches and the Sogetsu School provided the flowers— Dahlias. Some members had also brought their own flowers.
Thirty members participated and, as shown by Mr Christopher Lim, used the branches in different ways— upright, upside down or from outside the vase. Mr Lim went around and commented on the arrangements.
All in all, it was a fun morning.
