2026 Taiwan Sogetsu School Driftwood Art Exhibition and Exchange Event
Da'an Harbor Mazu Cultural Park, Taichung City, Taiwan
03 Oct 2026 [Sat] - 31 May 2027 [mon]
Celebrating the completion of the Mazu statue at Da’an Harbor, this exhibition explores new artistic possibilities through driftwood and promotes cultural exchange between Taiwan and Japan.
Featuring 30 individual artworks, 13 landscape art installations, and one collaborative Renka ikebana arrangement, the exhibition showcases the creativity and diverse expressions of the Sogetsu School. The artists reinterpret driftwood, shaped by nature over time, as an artistic medium through its lines, forms, textures, and relationship with space.
A total of 54 Sogetsu artists and 10 operational staff members participated, with the cooperation of three Sogetsu branches. Through individual creations and collaborative works, the exhibition highlights both personal expression and the power of artistic collaboration.
The event aims to introduce the creativity of the Sogetsu School to the local community and foster continued artistic and cultural exchange between Taiwan and Japan.
