Ikebanist

Haruko Miyamoto(Instructor of the Sogetsu)
According to the Japanese traditional calendar, it's already the latter half of August after passing risshu (the first day of autumn), but the days with severe lingering summer heat still continue.
Wishing that you could feel cool by viewing my ikebana work, I combined the luxuriant foliage of the Enkianthus perulatus, which look like a fresh breeze is blowing through, with polyantha rose hips which are still green.
For the container, I chose a white vase with bold black lines to smoothly create a sense of uniformity.

*For previously displayed works, please visit the Japanese Room Gallery.
