An opportunity to enjoy your ikebana
This will be the 3rd early summer Sogetsu IkebanaExhibition at the Sogetsu Kaikan. I hope that you as ikebana artists will take this chance to enjoy arranging flowers playfully and spontaneously with materials, containers, and use of space. You will discover wonderful expressions and unexpected realizations when you face the plants with a clear mind. In addition to free-style flower arranging, this exhibition encourages works using bamboo. Now synonymous with Sogetsu, arranging bamboo was Hiroshi Iemoto’s specialty. Flowers arranged in a joyful mood tend to spread this among those who see them. We look forward to hearing from you.

Scherzo・・・A musical form derived from the Italian word for “joke”. In Japanese, it is also called a “humorous piece”. It is characterized by the composer’s humor and playfulness.
