Message from Iemoto Akane Teshigahara

The ikebana work displayed in the Japanese Room fulfils the role of welcoming visitors to the Sogetsu Kaikan.

Naturally these works use the most beautiful plants at the time and season.

As we are now in the rainy season, the main players of this work are of course the vigorous, deep green plants with a shading of hydrangea colors to them.

The split bamboo gives the impression of a blast of wind swaying plants.

Have you noticed the Dō (torso) ceramic work at the corner of the room?

My father,  Hiroshi Teshigahara’s work is watching over my creation from afar.
