On the first day of the exhibition, Iemoto will hold an Insta-Live.

Sogetsu WEST , the newly opened base of Sogetsu School in Kyoto, is designed to be a a new type of ikebana school where one can exercise creativity through enjoying Sogetsu ikebana.
In this Solo Exhibition, Iemoto Akane transforms the space by her installation filled with the power and beauty of plants. She brings out the full potential of our new base in western Japan with her work, including displays of various sizes of ikebana.
Her latest self-made vases are also must-see.
We are preparing to stream this exhibition online so that those who are unable to visit there can join this special occasion.
Her second Solo exhibition “RELEASE” , the conjunction with “CONNECT” , is scheduled in autumn 2021 in Tokyo.
Message from Iemoto Akane Teshigahara
Ikebana has the power to open people’s minds.
The 20-year period since I succeeded as Iemoto has been a time for me to learn little by little about these precious powers that ikebana has through many irreplaceable experiences.
In the midst of anxiety and uncertainty, I’m determined to take a step and move forward into tomorrow with the hope that ikebana will connect people’s feelings and liberate their hearts.
