【SOGETSU MARCH PROGRAM 】Online Demonstration by Ms Koei Sawada

We had a very interesting and educative demonstration by Ms Koei Sawada for our March program. We had many viewership on Zoom and a lot more on Facebook.

1. The first Ikebana is the "flower of blessing",celebrating the 70th anniversary of the friendship between India and Japan.The Japanese national flower cherry blossoms, porsythia, Oklarelka, and Reeves spiral are added to express spring in Japan, with green, white, and saffron-colored yarns of the Indian flag threaded through the weft and red and white of the flag of Japan,

2. The vitality of black bamboo is combined with the black iron vase and the red azalea and the white Phalaenopsis orchid are added. Red and white is a sign of congratulations in Japan

3. The palm skins give a strong feeling and the magnolias are placed in the space created.
In addition, bright green Basho leaves were put in the mouth and soft viburnum was added for softness.

4. The next work is a small one. It expresses a soft feeling with white haze grass showing lightness and Ariam, coming outwards expressing hope.

5. The beautiful Jasminum grandiflorum are used in this Qinghai jar as we celebrate the future with various spring plants.
Flowers are placed between the alcove. The light shines in the space from behind and "May the world be peaceful and the future be bright".
