Message from Iemoto Akane Teshigahara

Whatʼs SOGETSU?

The Sogetsu School of Ikebana will mark its 100th anniversary in 2027.
We intend to find ourselves yet more liberated and creative
when we reach this outstanding milestone.
As a first step to achieve this goal, we would like to begin by reflecting on ourselves. Knowing ourselves can lead to reconfirming our connection to our community and society, and bring a chance to question our relationship with the world.
First, we ask ourselves, “What’s Sogetsu?”
We hope you enjoy our answers which vary from person to person
and are expressed in their ikebana creation.
