"Early in the spring, a sweet scent comes out from white flowers of the northern Japanese magnolia; their branches droop and look good"

As in the tanka poem by Bokusui Wakayama, I created a scene expressing early spring, being careful not to go against the momentum of the branches, which sprout lovely white flowers one after another early in the spring.

*For previously displayed works, please visit the Japanese Room Gallery.
