In the Japanese room on the fifth floor of the Sogetsu Kaikan, seasonal ikebana works are constantly on display for public view.

April 14th is the date that Hiroshi-sensei passed away.
I felt a mixture of nervousness and excitement as I created this work using his vase.
I arranged some fully-bloomed Quercus aliena 'Lutea' as the framework, harmonized it with the delicate Japanese rose, and then neatened the base with the lily-of-the-valley bush.
