Iemoto Akane Teshigahara(Fourth Headmaster of Sogetsu School of ikebana)
I displayed some of my work for the Sogetsu Ikebana Exhibition "Flower Sonata" in the Japanese Room.
Based on the theme of this exhibition, "Using vases made by me," I used ceramic vases that were made by myself for all of the works, except for this large piece composed of driftwood. As I combined the three essential elements of ikebana, namely Line, Color, and Mass, my goal was to create a striking spatial arrangement that could transcend the traditional image of the Japanese Room.
