In the Japanese room on the fifth floor of the Sogetsu Kaikan, seasonal ikebana works are constantly on display for public view.

The Japanese black pine boasts strong and beautiful branches. The Japanese apricot covered in moss has numerous buds that give it an elegant and majestic look.
I composed these materials horizontally, being conscious of the ground, while leveraging individual characteristics. The red camellia and white lilies in the center and on the rim of the vase create an auspicious color combination. It appears as if beams of bright light are falling from the sky.
I made this work with the hope of ushering in a happy new year.
