Ikebanist : Yoishi Hinata

Yoichi Hinata(Master Instructor of Sogetsu HQ)
Although I have been working with flowers for many years, I almost never create an arrangement based on a sketch.
This is because I know from the outset that plants do not exist in such picture-perfect forms. However, considering the element of serendipity—one of the true joys of ikebana—it could be a delightful experiment to occasionally create an arrangement based on a sketch of an imaginary plant, one that does not actually exist anywhere in the universe.

*For previously displayed works, please visit the Japanese Room Gallery.
