In the Japanese room on the fifth floor of the Sogetsu Kaikan, seasonal ikebana works are constantly on display for public view.

I arranged the wisteria expansively, taking advantage of its supple branches. As for the polyantha rose, though it bears red berries in autumn, I used it here for its lush foliage to create a large mass in the center. Finally, I tightened the rim of the vase with the evergreen Japanese spindle.
