Workshop and Demonstration by Ms. Misei Ishikawa for Sogetsu Dallas Branch

Sogetsu Dallas Branch held a special event on January 13 – 14, 2023, featuring Misei Ishikawa, Master Instructor of Sogetsu Headquarters.

The first event on Friday, January 13, was the STA-A (STA and Advanced) students’ workshop at Hyatt Place/Galleria. After Sensei critiqued all arrangements, the workshop was unanimously declared a success!

The second event, held the morning of Saturday, January 14, in front of almost 60 guests, was Sensei’s demonstration of five table arrangements, followed by a large floor arrangement. Her theme for the demonstration was “Prosperity for the New Year.” Sensei was primarily assisted by Riji Amira Matsuda and a team of front- and back-stage assistants for the demonstration.

Following the program luncheon, the third event, a general workshop, was held with about 50 participants, overall determined to be a successful workshop.
This event was chaired by Nancy Griggs, Sanyo, who set up the workshop and assisted Sensei in demonstrating the workshop.

We ended our program on January 14 with a Sayonara dinner honoring Sensei Misei Ishikawa.
