【Report】August 2026 program (New Delhi Branch)

As part of our ongoing Centenary celebrations, our senior teacher, Ms Yasuko Malhotra, gave a very interesting demonstration titled “Into the Next Era”. Keeping the “50 Principles of Sogetsu” in mind, she explained that ikebana is an art form that emphasises creativity, balance and harmony, and that Sogetsu embraces change while still being rooted in tradition.
Yasuko-san also demonstrated various techniques that she had learnt from Master Instructors during her visits to Japan and created nine ikebana arrangements, all of which were very well received by the audience.
More than 50 members and guests attended the programme and were spellbound by the arrangements.

Ms Kakuta from the Embassy of Japan was the Chief Guest and Ms Kurumi Otake from the Japan Foundation was the Guest of Honour. At the end of the programme, Ms Kakuta delivered a very encouraging speech in Hindi, which was greatly appreciated by everyone.
